All Proceeds Support Green Initiatives at NFS

Our annual 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk will be held on Saturday, October 5th, the morning of Fall Fest! What a great way to start off the day with a spirited race or leisurely walk for students, siblings, parents, alumni and friends. The 5K timed race will begin at 9:00am and the 1 mile walk will begin at 9:15am. The course takes participants on to the George School campus before ending back at NFS for refreshments, awards and gifts for everyone. All participants received a Fox Trot t-shirt.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all facets of life and its effect on our economy has been profound. In response to the continued financial impact brought on by the pandemic, we have established the Friends for Friends Fund to help Newtown Friends School families who are in need of tuition assistance due to layoffs, business reductions, job changes, and other financial hardships. By contributing to the Friends for Friends Fund, you will help us support the needs of our families who have been impacted.

As a Quaker community, we are committed to helping as many families as we can who are experiencing financial hardships as a result of the challenges brought by COVID-19. We ask those who are able to consider a gift to the Friends for Friends Fund. Click here to make your contribution. The Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom offers our students the opportunity to explore and develop a connection to the natural world. A beautiful location for classes, for quiet reflection, or to enjoy nature, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students enjoy time each day planting seeds, observing the changes in trees and other plants during the seasons, identifying birds, and playing in the 10 unique play areas in the space. Throughout the school year, all NFS students have opportunities to enjoy the outdoor classroom as part of a science lesson and other learning experiences. 

The outdoor classroom is personalized with our school logo in a beautiful central paved area where the pathways connect. Alumni, parents, grandparents, alumni parents, faculty and friends are invited to reserve an engraved paver to honor a student, show their NFS school spirit, and create a lasting remembrance at Newtown Friends School on the Pathway to Learning. Pavers are available surrounding the Newtown Friends School logo and also along adjacent pathways throughout the space.
